"Implementation of Activity-Based Working in Coworking Spaces: A Proposed Office Building through Application of Sociotechnical Systems Theory"
This project explores how Activity-Based Working (ABW) can transform coworking spaces into flexible, productive environments. By integrating sociotechnical systems theory, the design addresses user behavior, comfort, and productivity in shared-desk workspaces.
The proposal not only aligns with global workplace trends but also considers the post-pandemic shift towards hybrid work models in the Philippines, aiming to enhance both employee well-being and operational efficiency.
The proposed office building in Quezon City is strategically positioned to accommodate a diverse range of users, from freelancers and startups to corporate tenants and hybrid workers. The design incorporates multi-use spaces, ergonomic furniture, and acoustic treatments to mitigate distractions while promoting collaboration and focused work.
Outdoor working areas, relaxation zones, and modular layouts ensure that the environment remains adaptable to varying workstyles, fostering a balanced, inclusive workspace that caters to evolving business needs.
