This project is a comprehensive interior design exercise developed as part of an on-the-job training program under Padavela: Business Development and Consultancy Corporation. Centered around a Scandinavian-themed bedroom, the activity challenges the intern to conceptualize a cohesive design and effectively communicate the rationale behind each design choice. By combining visual aesthetics with functional considerations, the project tests the intern’s ability to align design principles with client expectations while maintaining a minimalist, calming atmosphere characteristic of Scandinavian interiors.
Beyond static renderings, the project includes a walkthrough presentation, allowing for a more immersive demonstration of spatial flow, material selection, and overall ambiance. This presentation format not only reinforces the visual narrative but also serves as a platform for articulating design intent and defending design decisions. The exercise is structured to simulate a professional design presentation, preparing the intern for future client-facing projects with a focus on clarity, consistency, and purposeful design execution.
